Our Brand
Conf. Univ. Dr. LUIZA SPIRU,
President of the Ana Aslan International Foundation
The principles and values of our organisation have come together to form the Ana Aslan International Academy of Aging brand
Our brand represents excellence in the field of the medicine of longevity and the prevention of brain aging through timely identification of individual risk factors and a personalised attitude towards the otherwise irreversible aging process.
In the 1950s, it was Professor Ana Aslan who raised for the first time the question of the complexity of the aging process, the dramatic aging of the populace in the future, and the need for a specialised medicine dedicated to the aging individual and the problems of this irreversible phenomenon.
There were few people who understood her genius at the time. The brilliance of her medical thinking had as its corollary concepts of a preventative and curative order that have radically transformed not only scientific perceptions but also the common perception of the phenomenon of aging. In this respect, the work of Ana Aslan grants major importance and interest to brain aging.
Today, the Ana Aslan International Academy of Aging has adopted, redefines and develops the concept elaborated by Prof. Ana Aslan, the holistic-integrative approach to the individual phenomenon of aging, within the framework of which cerebral aging as a major factor of risk in modern and consumer society represents a central reference point.
In April 2001, emeritus scientists from all over the world decided, in the capacity of founder members, to establish the Ana Aslan International Foundation.
The Foundation’s Statutes at the same time provide for an elite academic forum—the Ana International Academy of Aging—whose managing board brings together eminent international figures in the fields of medical science, education, technology, information technology, and communications. Its purpose, that of initiating, elaborating, implementing and supporting specific projects and programmes of research and education, as well as ones of a cultural nature, is reflected in the objectives laid out in the statutes.
Initiation, organisation and financing of:
